ABOUT ME
my background and my relationship with languages
I was born and raised near Lisbon, Portugal.
In 1999, I began studying Modern Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Letters in Lisbon.
In 2007, a “geographical love accident” took me to Paris, sparking my passion for foreign languages.
Since then, I have been teaching students from all over the world, helping them communicate in Portuguese — while also learning, speaking, and thinking in other languages myself.
My courses are inspired by my own experience as a non-native speaker of French and English.
Between 2008 and 2018, I worked as a teacher at the Camões Institute and several French universities. During this time, I nurtured the dream of teaching independently, creating space to truly support my students.
In 2020, I returned to Portugal for good and completed a PhD in Modern Literature at the University of Lisbon.
In 2023, I founded Português Catita, a school where you can learn Portuguese naturally and dynamically.
I’m also proud to collaborate with Portuguese with Leo, sharing my passion for the language with a wider audience.
When I'm not at Português Catita
you’ll probably find me spending time walking with my dogs, cooking something tasty, painting, listening to music, or taking a dip in the waters of Arrábida.
